Vintage garden Bouquet ~ Featured on Front cover of Ceremony Magazine

It’s official! The new issue of Ceremony magazine is out, and we are so honored that our bouquet graces the cover. We decided to take a romantic vintage approach by using David Austin roses, parrot tulips, and dusty miller. Silver ribbon was used to compliment the soft ivory and peach palette of the bouquet. Embellishing the handle with a lace trim and antique pearls it all the more charming. The darling is in the details. ~Aileen (for more, visit my blog here)

Ceremony Magazine 2011: Melissa and Chris wedding at L’auberge Del Mar

Who can resist the color ‘Tiffany’?  This romantic ‘Azul’ color blends perfectly with the Pacific ocean view that L’auberge Del mar has to offer. Melissa and Chris’s wedding was highlighted in the latest Ceremony Magazine.  Their stunning wedding was filled with an abundance of exotic white orchids and other white blooms at the Seagrove Park in Del Mar.  Striking thick white petal path led the couple to the romantic wedding canopy overlooking the blue sea.  We integrated some seaside touches with the elegance decor that the bride Melissa has chosen.  Simply Posh Design provided seashells with guests names on the escort table.  She also designed the beautiful table frames and the unique menu cards with tiffany  colored brooch.  Oh so pretty!
Aileen Tran thoughtfully designed the beautiful white and tiffany candy table with the pretty signage from Simply Posh Design.  The mouthwatering treats gives guests energy to dance all night long in the ‘Tiffany lounge’ after party, where we brought in white lounge furniture, lighting and a custom seamless dance floor.  Wedding Coordinator Catherine Bachelier Smith with CBS weddings helped plan this romantic destination wedding for Melissa and Chris.  Who traveled from Arizona to experience the ultimate San Diego Beach Wedding!  The talented Darin Fong provided the brilliant images.  Thank you Darin.
Kecia Kelly, catering manager at L’auberge Del Mar was a dream to work with.  Thank you Kecia, it’s always a pleasure!  Congratulations Melissa and Chris on your wedding and your feature on Ceremony Magazine!

Reconsidering Silk

I’ve always thought that the words “silk” and “flowers” should never go together, but when I came across these gorgeous dupioni silks, I immediately digressed. Once I got my hands on this mocha and antique aqua fabric, I paired them with Charlie Brown Cymbidium orchids. Their striking red throats gave a lovely subtle contrast to the dirty aqua fabric. Chantilly lace and wisps of ostrich feathers give this vintage dress inspired bouquet depth and texture. ~Aileen (for more eye candy, check out my blog here)

Ceremony Magazine feature: Vintage inspired wedding at La Valencia Hotel

Weddings are instinctively romantic.  In the case of Darby and Rod, it is more than Romantic.  It was Classy, elegant and Timeless.  The sweet Darby planned her wedding from Las Vegas and made a wonderful choice of selecting La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla as their romantic Venue.  The day can not be more perfect with the guidance and expertise of Catherine Bachelier Smith of CBS weddings.  The chosen theme was vintage with a slight modern touch.  From the lace sheath ‘Vera Wang’ dress to crystal dripping candelabras to sheer draped room,  every special touch was well thought out to reflect the personality of the sweet bride.  You can read more about their wedding on our previous post HERE.   Congratulations once again Darby and Rob!  Your wedding was gorgeous in  person and in Print!
Huge thanks to Darin Fong who did a fantastic job with the photography, thank you Darin!

Bouquet Monday: Vintage Ivory Bouquet

How can you go wrong with a elegant white and ivory bridal bouquet? Fully bloomed spray roses are complimented with white ranunculus and calla lilies for angularity. A couture crystal band and brooch adorn the handle, but my favorite accent is the vintage lace peeking through the collar. It’s the simple and subtle details like these that make your special day all the more unique. ~Aileen (for more, check out my blog)

Ceremony Magazine: L’auberge Seaside Wedding

Another one of our favorite wedding of the year also made the cut in Ceremony Magazine 2011.  At first glance one may think this wedding was taken place in Hawaii.  The majestic ocean view backdrop can’t get any better.  Destination wedding in San Diego anyone?

The ceremony was on the lawn at Seagrove Park Del Mar perched high above the  pacific ocean.  Spendid!  You can read more about the wedding of Keely and Louis in our previous post HERE.  We designed two massive manzanita trees drenched with large magnificent phalaenopsis orchids with thick luscious petal path leading the wedding couple to the Altar.  The desired color palette for this beach style wedding was a soft muted tone.  Each bouquet was adorned with a sweet crystal starfish to perfectly carry out the seaside theme.  L’auberge Del Mar was a perfect venue to host this elegant wedding.  The staff and their services were nothing but stellar.  Alison Sansom, wedding coordinator for the Hotel was a joy to work with as usual and certainly did not miss a beat.

The guests continue to enjoy the glorious views as they were ushered into the pacific terrace where the dining and dancing continued.  I am a huge fan of a large ‘feast style’ head table.  It is the focal point of the wedding!  We love the bling embellishments to the candle holders.  It certainly added the sparkles to this tablescape.  The head table took center stage with its over the top floral arrangements bursting with white orchids, hydrangea and roses.  Special thanks to the talented Jennifer Dailard over at Simply Posh design for working closely with us to incorporate all the gorgeous crystal brooches to the menus and invitations.  Congratulations again Keely and Louis!  It’s great to revisit your wedding again in print!

Ceremony Magazine 2011 San Diego: Four Seasons Maui wedding

Well, the long awaited Ceremony Magazine San Diego is hot off the press and we could not be more excited.   Our vintage bouquet made the front cover!   Outstanding job Aileen!  Also feature in this current issue is one of our favorite wedding that took place in Maui at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea.  We  absolutely love weddings in Hawaii.
The view at the Four Seasons Maui  ocean lawn is simply Magnificent!  A perfectly manicured lawn with striking views of the Wailea beach and swaying palm trees, this is truly a premier location for a gorgeous wedding.  The romantic wedding canopy in shades of pinks graced this ocean lawn as the radiant bride Ashley walked down the thick petal path to meet your husband Chance. Sweet pomander balls of sweetheart roses and hanging crystal prisms lined the aisle to greet the happy bride.   Ashley has selected many beautiful elements for her wedding to reflect her own style.  For her bouquet, we added strands of crystal bands to compliment her gorgeous Vera Wang bridal gown and Jimmy Choo’s crystal shoes. The elegant theme carried seamlessly into the ballroom with a grand feast style table to accommodate 30 guests.  The  floral tabletop included crystal encrusted candle holders, tightly pave floral pieces and over the rim gorgeous centerpieces that included hundreds of pink roses, hydrangeas and several varieties of exotic orchids.  The large pink ottomans with pillows outlining the dance floor were great accents to this pink lit room.  Guests danced the night away as they enjoyed a delightful display of pink candies at the candy buffet table.  A big thanks to Jennifer at Simply Posh design for the precious signs!
Special thanks to the wonderful wedding  manager Denise Black for her assistance on this wedding.  If you are planning a wedding here at the Four Seasons Maui, you are in great hands with this amazing lady!
All photos courtesy of Beloved Weddings.   Thank you Matt.  They are beautiful! Congratulations to the sweet and lovely couple Ashley and Chance!  Thank you for taking us to paradise to design your gorgeous wedding!

Bouquet Monday: Phalaenopsis Bouquet

When I want a clean and elegant flower, I think of the phalaenopsis orchid. Its pure white blooms cascade down a dramatic stem and is accented with yellow throats. Phalaenopsis are perfect for a flowing bouquet, such as the ones below, which we wrapped in rhinestones and embellished with a stunning brooch. For a striking bouquet that makes a statement, this number fits the bill. For more eye on the gorgeous phalaenopsis orchid, check out my blog(click here) ~Aileen

Chloe and Ben: Estancia Resort La Jolla Wedding

As a long time fan of Wayne Foster Entertainment, I was honored when asked to design the wedding for Wayne’s grandson Ben and his beloved Chloe. Ben and Chloe wisely chose the Estancia Resort in La Jolla to celebrate their marriage which provided all the inspiration our design team needed to create a truly magical day.  Their ceremony was designed to enhance the natural beauty, serenity and soft opulence the Estancia Resort grounds exude.  Working with mainly white florals, elegant crystal embellishments and our signature mahogany toned chuppah, the aisle sparked almost as much as the bride herself.  We hung a gorgeous crystal chandelier from the chuppah, lined the aisle with tufted planter boxes encrusted with ornate crystal brooches and introduced a vibrant splash of color with the hand wired purple and magenta bouquets the bridesmaids carried.  See Aileen’s Blog for more information on these bright beauties.  Once Ben and Chloe were officially husband and wife it was time to celebrate and leave romance of the ceremony behind for a reception of dazzling drama and show-stopping entertainment provided by the entire Foster family—wow!.  Using a palette of  aubergine, plum, Guests danced the night away atop a custom high gloss seamless dance floor featuring the couples custom monogram under hues of lavender and magenta lighting.  Inspired by the rustic charm of the resort, Aileen designed an amazing escort table presentation complete with dark manzanita branches dripping with crystal strands.  She described it so well here on her Blog.  Floral centerpieces including fluffy white hydrangeas, imported roses and exotic pendulous phalaenopsis orchids and other  special touches were in abundance through crystal embellished paper goods including programs, menus mounted on gorgeous silk boards and lovely place cards designed by Simply Posh Design.
Congratulations to the beautiful couple Ben and Chleo!
