Seaside Splendor at the Hotel Del Coronado: Kelsey and Jeff

The gorgeous wedding of Kelsey and Jeff took place at the infamous Hotel Del Coronado. I love this wedding for so many reasons. Kelsey and Jeff’s fun and vibrant personality shines through their entire wedding. Boy, do they know how to enjoy a wedding! It was fantastic! This seaside wedding embraced many fun and interesting elements. The bride wanted a glamorous wedding with touches of rusted beach elements. We incorporated nautilus shells, corals and succulent blooms. The teal color worn by her bridesmaids paired well with the vibrant raspberry and mandarin orange. Their ceremony took place on the ocean front Windsor Lawn overlooking the fantastic Coronado beach. The decor for the ceremony reflects their love for the beach. We provided the custom bamboo canopy dripping with exotic white orchids and adorned with hanging orbs and starfish. The aisle leading to their beach-inspired wedding canopy consisted of acrylic boxes holding grape wood branches, succulents and seashells. The vibrant display of tulips, calla lilies and orchids in a deep orange, apple green and raspberry greeted the guests as they enter the cocktail area. The colorful decor of this wedding continued to the reception in the Crown Ballroom. Tall cylinder glass vases with submerged orchids and floating candles lining the entrance as the guests were led to the beautiful ballroom. The main focal point of the room was the spectacular Head table. The long feast style head table featured a plethora of orchids, tulips and manzanita holding clusters of white orchids. The tabletop decor for each guest table also included the manzanita branches dripping with white phalaenopsis orchids and strings of pearl succulents and surrounded with raspberry colored roses. I love the pairing of teal, raspberry and orange for the Crown Ballroom. The lighting and awesome dance floor provided Platinumpro further enhanced this spectacular wedding. Emily Smiley was on board to ensure a smooth day and all the gorgeous images were taken by Jeff and Erin Youngrens with ‘The Youngrens Photography’. Thank you so much for providing these to us.

Bouquet Monday: Natural Bouquet

Last week we featured a naturalistic Lady Slipper bridesmaid bouquet. This bridal bouquet was a compliment to the same organic inspired wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado. The bride, Loan was enamored with all things organic, and wanted a loosely arranged bouquet of hand wired gardenias, Charlie Brown cymbidium orchids, and sahara roses. I love that the tan orchids lend a depth of color and intrigue, while the picture perfect gardenias still make the bouquet timeless. ~Aileen

Peacock teal and fuchsia wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado

Another fun wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado! Rachel was absolutely stunning on her wedding day! She carried a elegant gathering of long white phalaenopsis orchids with stems completely wrapped with rhinestone strands. The ceremony for this beautiful couple took place on the Vista Walk at the Hotel Del Coronado follow with a reception in the Coronet ballroom. Rachel loves the organic and whimsical appearance of the Manzanita branches and the elegant blooms of White Phalaenopsis orchids. We paired those two elements together throughout their wedding. The infusion of bright apple green orchids, lady’s slipper orchids (my favorite!) and hot pink roses were intriguing against the bridesmaids Teal dresses. Lately, The word ‘peacock’ has been the most popular search term on our blog. The rich array of colors ranging from purple to teal makes this an interesting element to introduce to the wedding decor. Although we did not use the peacock plumes, we did utilize the our peacock shimmer linens to introduce the Teal color feature in the bridal party’s attire. This wedding included a bit of seaside element as well, after all we are right on the beach in southern California! We designed the adorable ring bearer silk box with a seashell brooch and the Escort table included finger star fish tied with guests names. The tabletop in the Coronet room at the Hotel Del Coronado included large Manzanita branches dripping with loose pendulous phalaenopsis stems. We added moss, orchid blooms and white hydrangeas at the base for an organic touch. The wonderful Jennifer from Simply Posh Design worked closely with Rachel to design perfect pairing of fan ceremony programs, guest cards and menus. The color and design was simply perfect. Rich fall wedding at the Rancho Valencia Resort

It will make you want to snuggle up with a warm fussy blanket. I love all the rich texture and colors. She blended the organic elements but in keeping with our signature Lush style. Great work Aileen! Pam Scott did a splendid job photographing this as well….Thank you Pam!

I’m obsessed with this exotic flower of marsupial nomenclature. This velvety wonder comes in an array of vivid colors and offers an intriguing organic look. Here I combined them with succulents and spray roses to create a real rustic beauty. I can imagine walking this down the aisle to a Tuscan or a handsome garden inspired wedding. ~Aileen
