Modern and Posh Purple wedding: Denise and Tim

If you ever wonder what a romantic, intimate and full of delicious details would look like, here it is! We are so honored to be a part of Denise and Tim’s gorgeous wedding. After choosing San Diego and La Jolla to host their destination wedding, this lovely couple invited their close family to join them at The Japanese Friendship garden in Balboa Park follow with a reception at Azul La Jolla. We love it when we get an opportunity to create something unique . We started the FUN with the adorable floral hand bags for the little flower girls. Chanel inspired? The ring bearer carried white leather boxes with rhinestone trims. So luxurious!
Hues of lavender, hints of purple and a sea of white color were used for their ceremony. The lovely bride walked through sheer purple drapes with 100 fluffy white peonies hanging from above. The couple exchanged their vows under our signature wedding canopy adorned with fresh white orchids and hanging crystals. The celebration continued with a posh and luxurious theme at Azul La Jolla. Each glass vessel was embellished uniquely with brooches, crocodile leather and rhinestone trimming. Here we selected a darker floral palette of plum, purple and magenta. A plethora of cattleya orchids, peonies, roses and viburnum were used to create this lush tabletop. Jennifer Daillard of Simply Posh Design created over-the-top luxuriously silk embroidered menus. Each one was personally addressed to the guests with sentimental notes from the couple. How brilliant and outrageously gorgeous! Congratulations to the beautiful couple Denise and Tim! Peonies season is upon us and we can not be happier! We are basking in hundred of these gorgeous blooms daily and loving it! The coral charm peonies are the highlight for this Modern Mediterranean photo shoot. Aileen was inspired by the crisp colors of Coral, deep orange and the perfect blue from the dress she was wearing. Santaluz Country Club provided a perfect back drop for this fun and exciting tabletop. We hope you enjoy viewing this as much as we enjoy putting it together. Lusciously Modern tabletop designed for Ceremony Magazine

We thoroughly enjoyed designing this voluptuous yet modern tabletop for Ceremony Magazine this year. Using luxurious shades of plum, purples and chocolate, we paired this opulent romantic design with the clean line style of the beautiful purple calla lilies. Ruffled magenta cattelya orchids brings gracefulness to this tabletop along with touches of amethyst jewels. Fabulous silk board menus from the gracious Simply Posh design completes rich and delicious tablescape.

Modern wedding in Bold colors: Hotel Del Coronado

We’ve been looking forward to sharing this wedding that we collaborated with the wonderful Emily Smiley all year. It was a grand event at the historic Hotel Del Coronado fill with tons of modern details. Deanna and John wanted a unique combination of yellow, cobalt blue, and green to be the colors for their decor. Each of the bridesmaids carried a cascading bundle of white phalaenopsis orchids to highlight their stunning blue dresses, while the flower girls held jewel encrusted floral purses. The bride walked down a petal path aisle decorated in an elegant scroll pattern and lined with large cylinder vases filled with submerged green cymbidium orchids, yellow tulips, and calla lilies. Behind the guests chairs were floral planter boxes custom wrapped in white satin and overflowing with white and yellow blooms. At the end and entrance of the aisle were two acrylic columns that held arrangements bursting with oncidium orchids and phalaenopsis orchids. I love how it makes it look as though they’re floating!!
As the guest sipped their champagne, they were greeted by a long escort card table decorated with graceful bouquets of calla lilies and orchids. Satin covered boxes were filled with sand to nestling darling little adirondack chairs and guest cards.
The party moved into the Grand Ballroom with a stunning circle dance floor designed by Platinum Pro. The live music preformed by Wayne Foster Entertainment never ease to amaze us. They were spectacular!
The special Headtable tablescape display cascading white phalaenopsis orchids, white calla lilies and white hydrangeas. The design was clean and modern which made a striking statement. We continued the theme with the cupcake display by elevating the trays with vases of submerged orchids. Thank you Darin Fong for the gorgeous photos! Congratulations to Deana and John!

Lovely Purple plum wedding: Vicky and Nam

The color purple seems to be quiet popular in recent years. Purple has long been associated with Royalty and passion. Well, Vicky and Nam’s wedding certainly was that: Royalty and lots of passion. They are the cutest couple and from these great photos below I’m sure we will all agree. Vicky and Nam came to me from Orange County to plan and design their wedding which was held at the Westin Downtown San Diego. We utilized the adjacent ballroom for their ceremony where we lined the aisle with floating candles and custom hand painted aisle runner. Their romantic wedding canopy housed a crystal chandelier and draped with a sheer whimsical fabric. I love the bridesmaids dresses! Perfect purple. Aileen did a fabulous job hand wiring their bouquet into perfection! The delicious lady’s slippers and phalaeanopsis orchid blooms were the stars.
The reception ballroom was illuminated with LED lighting in a magenta and purple hues. White lounge furniture and dance floor looks great in this purple room! We used our new line of crystal ‘napkin rings’ to wrap the amethyst napkins. It added just a right amount of bling to their stylish wedding. Thank you Vicky and Nam and congratulations! Yellow black and white tabletop inspiration

Yellow is such a bright and fresh color. In this table top, we took lemon yellow and gave it a modern twist with accents of silver and black. White and yellow balls of carnations and mums rest atop vases and lucite squares trimmed with silver sequins. Graceful arches of calla lilies make a fabulous counterpoint. Who can resist glass vases filled to the brim with yellow cymbidium orchids and the darling jewel handles on the yellow pomanders? Black chiavari chairs and brocade plates add a little hint of black to keep things interesting. Alligator embossed charger plates make an edgy statement and have completely won me over. Charming menus and escort cards by Rock papper scissors design top off the whole look.

Kelly and Michael’s hip wedding at the Parker Palm Springs

We wrote a post about this ultra chic wedding in February but when we received the professional photos from Boyd Harris, we had to share again! The Parker Palm Springs was a perfect venue for this modern day sophisticated bride. The rain was a true blessing in disguise. The back up plan was the gorgeous Mafiya Suite. This french colonial style room with floor to ceiling drapes was magnificent! It created a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony altar. The bride Kelly adores the use of multiple spheres in shades of white and yellow. We used them throughout the ceremony and reception ballroom. The touch of the black and white filigree runner added a great element to the white and yellow tablescape . To sum it up, this wedding was about fun, modern and all around gorgeous! Kelly was a modern day Grace Kelly and looked insanely beautiful in her lace gown. She carried a delicate gathering of cattleya orchids, while the bridesmaids held bouquets of calla lilies and billy balls.
With the help and creativity of Mrs. Susanne Duffy of Crown Weddings, this day was flawless. Congratulations Kelly and Michael! We are so honored to be a part of your spectacular day.

Modern wedding at the Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla

This was my first wedding at this beautiful new venue. The Scripps seaside forum is an extension of UCSD and located on the cliff just steps away from La Jolla Shores. The view is spectacular! The jewish wedding ceremony took place on the lawn in front of the Forum. Kaley and Joshua wanted a very modern and clean look for their wedding. Cobalt blue looked great against the ocean backdrop of this gorgeous venue. The florals consisted of green cymbidium orchids, white phaleanopsis, white roses and hydrangeas. The reception decor included the striking cobalt blue custom dance floor from platinumpro complete with trendy white lounge furniture and blue lighting. Wayne Foster Entertainment performed their usual amazing music that kept the guests dancing throughout the night.
