Inspirations from Chateau de Versailles France

Several months ago I had an opportunity to visit Paris with my three daughters.  It was an amazing fun trip.  On this visit, we took a side trip to the Magnificent Chateau de Versailles.  The castle where Marie Antoinette  herself resided.  This amazing chateau is beyond words.  I was utterly overcome with the vast opulent decor in this chateau.  My head was spinning with so many ideas and inspirations drawing from every room.  And there were many!  Intricate trims ,crystal chandeliers, rich colored tassels, color tapestries all are indelible in my mind.  You may have recalled my attempt to translate this beautiful place in our ‘Versailles’ tabletop so time ago.  Now after visiting the Chateau, I have more insight and anxiously preparing to design other tabletop soon!  Oh how I would love to put this table in the midst of the grand courtyard!  Enjoy!

Maui Wedding: The Ritz Carlton Kapalua Bay

Kapalua Bay Maui is known for it’s picturesque setting.  With miles of rolling hills peppered with pine trees and golf courses hugging the coast.  It is no wonder it’s a popular place to exchange your vows.   It is also the windiest part of the island.  Several days leading up to Tanya and Lundy’s wedding, it rained and rained with high wind.  But on the morning of their wedding, the sky opened up and the sun shone brightly on the gorgeous lawn at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua bay. We provided our signature wedding canopy with thick lush petal path in Ivories and Whites.  The bride was greeted with rows of chiffon fabrics and white florals and hanging crystal prisms.  The ceremony setting was surrounding with palm trees and a gorgeous ocean backdrop.  This is why you have a wedding in Maui right?   Tanya’s Pnai Tornai ruffle dress was insanely gorgeous!  She carried a collection of large locally grown Gardenia bouquet.  We custom wrapped the stems with the ruffle fabric to perfectly compliment her gown.  While the purple plum and magenta bouquets were the colors chosen to complete the beautiful platinum chiffon dresses of her bridesmaids.  An abundance of crystals and brooches were used for this wedding as they are perfect reflection of bride’s style.  The reception celebration continued to the Plantation ballroom where we used Amethyst and purple lighting and table linens.  Our signature white floral pieces graced each table that surrounded the sweetheart table of the bride and groom.  They included imported roses, large white hydrangeas, white peonies and orchids.  Lovely floral combination!  Thank you Tanya and Lundy for allowing us to be a part of your special day!  We love designing weddings in Maui and this wedding was pure pleasure!  A big thank you to Scott Drexler for the beautiful images!

Kapalua Bay Maui Wedding

I truly love the game of golf.  I am excited to watch the annual Hyundai Tournament of Champions taking place at the Plantation Kapalua Bay today.  The beautiful scenery on TV reminds me  of the gorgeous setting at Tanya and Lundy’s wedding.  Their wedding took place at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua bay.  The ceremony overlooked the pacific ocean and surrounded by lush palm trees.  Part of the decor for the ceremony was inspired by the gorgeous Pnai Tornai gown Tanya wore.  The scallop layering of her dress was insanely gorgeous.  We used this design throughout the aisle of the ceremony using chiffon fabrics.  The result was feminine ethereal and ROMANTIC.  We will post more photos of this Maui wedding shortly.  Please stay tune!

Shawn and Zachary Vintage wedding featured in The Bride and Bloom

The beautiful wedding of Shawn and Zachary was featured in The latest Bride and Bloom Magazine.  This wedding was so beautiful in so many ways. First this lovely couple are both gorgeous and gracious.  Their wedding took place at their parent’s beautiful estate complete with a lake (yes, a lake!) and a gorgeous barn.  It truly embraced the theme ‘Vintage Elegance’.  The bride Shawn was naturally gorgeous wearing strapless sweetheart neckline dress and a lace veil worn by her mother at her own wedding!  The challenge of the sloped back yard for their wedding setting was overcome with a custom built deck to accommodate 200 guests.  This deck was set in the midst of lush surroundings of  beautiful matured trees.  Hanging lights and crystal chandelier further enhanced the dining area where ceremony space previously took place.  This vintage inspired reception included graceful long tables lined with chantilly lace and our signature silver candelabras dripping with crystal prisms and chameleon chairs.   Robin blue plates, pillows and other accents gave this wedding a dreamy and vintage aesthetic.  After dinner,  the Guests were ushered to an open tent area with romantic hanging crystal chandeliers, lounge sitting and custom dance floor.  Wayne Foster Entertainment kept them dancing all night under the stars.  Thank you Shaw and Zack for allowing us to be a part of your spectacular wedding!  These beautiful images were taken by Brandon Kidd.  Thank you Brandon!

Gold Orange and Cobalt blue table top

Adding Gold to your table simply brings warmth and luxury to your wedding.  This is a very luxurious combination of  Gold, orange and touches of Cobalt blue.  We used an abundance of orange makara orchids along with roses and the beautiful calla lilies.  The Green cymbidium orchids gave this table top the right amount of contrast while hand painted gold vases and gold vessels were used to display these beauties.  The lovely gold lace over lay and chair cover  from Wild Flower linens were a perfect compliment this table!  We can’t have such a gorgeous table setting without our own line of gold brooch napkin rings.  Sublime!
Special thanks to Pam Scott for her gorgeous photography.

Gorgeous Vintage inspired Wedding in Rancho Santa Fe: Rancho Valencia Resort

We had such a wonderful time designing and planning Alex and Jesse’s wedding at the Rancho Valencia Resort.  We assist this lovely couple with their San Diego Destination wedding as they planned this spectacular affair from San Francisco.  From Venue selection to amazing Vendors such Darin Fong, J Grace (formerly Simply Posh design)  Modern 8 Films, CBS Weddings to Wayne Foster Entertainment.  Of course weaving together their ‘Vintage Elegance’ theme for their wedding using tons of crystals lace and brooches was our main job. Our bride Alex loves the soft feminine color palette. We blended the whites, ivories and blush hues to produce an elegant color combination. Speial Attention to details is a Must for this wedding. Each personal item was specially crafted with hand crafted fabric rosette, lace and rhinestone trimmings.  The beautiful ceremony took place on the Hacienda lawn where we provided our signature wedding canopy.   Lace fabric added a unique dimension to the entrance columns and the floral boxes that lined both sides of the aisle.  Thousands of rose petals lined the main aisle to welcome the beautiful bride.  The Vintage elegance theme continued to the reception where large floral centerpieces graced every guest table with hydrangeas, garden roses, pendulous orchids, cafe au lait peonies and dripping crystal strands. Each candle holder was futher embellished with dangling crystals to add ultra glam to the tabletop. We were excited to introduced our luxurious custom gold overlay to the bridal head table. Talking about glitz! It was the perfect addition to this glamorous tabletop! The customized silk menus were absolutely exquisite! It was finished with a large cream rose at every place setting. The reception celebration surrounded the swimming pool where we floated large floral pieces with parafin candles. The glowing effect was magical throughout the evening. Vintage glamour was infused at every turn including the custom cake stand we made for their four tier cake and crochet lace runner for the table. As you can see the details for this wedding was vast and definitely the labor of love.  We are over the moon excited to be a part of it.  Congratulations to the beautiful couple Alex and Jesse!

Adorable ring bearer silk boxes for the little bespoke men

Prettiness is not only for girls.  Several weeks ago we posted some precious floral hand bags for the little flower girls.  Well, I think the handsome little men are just as precious.  This particular wedding was inspired by everything ‘Romantic’……you name it….Lace, feathers, brooches, garden roses and gardenias.  All shouts Romance.  The bespoke little men at this wedding carried our custom silk boxes embellished with gorgeous lace trims and accentuated with fresh blooms.  It was a perfect addition for this gorgeous vintage inspired ‘Romantic’ wedding.  More on Alex and Jesse’s wedding soon!

Yellow and Gray inspiration: For the fresh and subtly glamorous wedding

Sure the color gray  such a dreary reputation. ‘Gray skies’ and feeling gray’…all these connotations don’t stand a chance when a pop of yellow comes on the scene. This table top sings ‘Spring’ with willow-esque branches, dripping crystals, bright cymbidium orchids, and velvety dusty miller.  Surrounding the centerpiece are antique mercury glass vases filled with white garden roses, ranunculus, and cheerful yellow orchids to achieve a whimsical look.  The fantastic pairing of these two colors is chic elegant and oh so divine!
Rock Paper Scissors designed the darling menus and place cards for each setting. Thank you Terri Rippee for the gorgeous photos!

L’auberge Del Mar seaside wedding: An ultimate San Diego beach wedding

If you live in San Diego, you are fortunate to experience beautiful and comfortable weather most of the year.  We are now in November and the weather has been consistently in the high 70′s.  Now that is summer living!  L’auberge Del Mar is one of those place that comes to mind when one thinks about Sizzling summer and elegant beach wedding.  This venue is perfect for a beach style wedding and Randi and David’s wedding was sizzling HOT!  Drawing from the Seaside theme, we integrated touches of crystal starfish brooches throughout. An elegant alternative to seashells.  Randi’s style for her wedding was understated elegance.  Her white bridal bouquet was modern yet timeless.  We used a fresh blend of garden roses, gardenias and orchids.  Well suited for her gorgeous mermaid gown.  The wedding celebration began on the ocean view Sunset Terrace where the jewish Chuppah set the tone for this seaside wedding.  The Jewish wedding chuppah was adorned with gorgeous peonies, hydrangeas and orchids in a neutral white palette.   Chic and modern mahogany boxes overflowing with similar blooms graced each side of the aisle.  Their wedding reception continued upstairs in the Pacific Terrace known for its panoramic ocean view.  The decor for the reception embraced a modern aesthetic.  The main Head table consisted with an abundance of White Phalaenopsis orchids, peonies and clusters of white calla lilies.  The amazing work of Simply Posh design greatly enhanced this tabletop.  Beautiful and elegant silk board menus were set for each guest.  Absolutely gorgeous!  Each guest table consisted with multiple collections of clean line vases holding clusters of calla lilies, white peonies, white hydrangeas and orchids.  Our blush tone linens added a soft touch to this tablescape.  Weddings at L’auberge Del Mar are always stress free and flawless under the guidance of Ms. Alison Sansom, wedding coordinator at the Resort.  She did a great job with the planning and managing this event.  Thank you Alison!  Congratulations to the beautiful couple Randi and David!  Thank you Darin Fong for these fantastic photos

Beautiful bridal bouquet wrap for a gorgeous Pnina-Tornai wedding Gown

Last week we had an amazing opportunity to design the wedding of Tanya and Lundy at the Ritz Carlton in Maui (more on that wedding later!) The beautiful bride Tanya wore Pnina-Tornai wedding gown made exclusively for Kleinfeld.  It is simply exquisite!  The gown consisted of multiple layers of ruffles and a unique crystal jewels at the bodice.  To compliment this gorgeous gown, we incorporated the exact ruffle fabric to Tanya’s bridal bouquet and made a skirting for the handle finish with a crystal brooch.   Her white bridal bouquet included beautiful garden gardenias, imported roses and orchids. What a lovely ensemble don’t you think?

Viceroy Palm Springs Wedding: Hip and Modern

There’s something really special about weddings in Palm Springs.  Particularly wedding that is Hip Modern Posh and oh so Chic.  The Viceroy Palm Springs is one of those.  We took full advantage of it’s primary colors (Black White and Orange) and designed an extraordinary ceremony on their Regency Courtyard facing the pool cabana with its picturesque mountain back ground.  The carpet of petals were lined in perfect squares alternating colors down the aisle while lucite planter boxes overflowing with white florals lined each side.  Our large crystal chandelier hung in the center of the canopy flanked with two large white floral topiaries.  We added lush large white orchids to their existing urns.  The orange parrot tulips were in full season and was a perfect complement to this orange color palette.  At the base of the Cabana were two urns bursting with calla lilies, ranunculus, parrot tulips and makara orchids. All in a rich orange color!  I love the contrast of the black and white.  We trimmed the lucite columns with a modern black and white geometric pattern for that perfect ‘pop’.  The Viceroy suite was decorated with sleek fabric covered table and modern white chairs.  Modern vase holding a plethora of pure white tulips graced the table.  Here you will find modern art works on the stark white wall.

Our models wore gorgeous gowns from Bliss Bride in Del Mar.  Special thanks to Joe Stemmer of J Stemmer Photography for these amazing photos.
And kudos to Viceroy Palm Springs for allowing us to display our work on their spectacular venue.  This ceremony was also featured in the latest issue of The Bride and Bloom Magazine.

An Adorable floral handbag for the flower girl

I LOVE designing a sweet little handbag made out of fresh flowers.  They are fun and so adorable.  The options are quiet endless.  Here for Alex’s wedding, I used fresh sweetheart roses to form the body of the purse. The fabric of the handle were chosen to match the flower girl’s dress perfectly.  The bottom of the handbag was finished with a playful sheer ruffle trimming to complement her sweet ballerina dress.  Of course tiny sparkling jewels made the bag ever so precious.  Please stay tuned for more photos of Alex and Jesse’s gorgeous wedding at Rancho santa fe.

Island Splendor: Glamorous Maui tabletop inspiration

Our glamorous photoshoot the Hyatt Kaanapali  Maui revealed in the latest Bride and Bloom Magazine this month.   You may have seen a similar design floating around on another designer’s blog recently but our tabletop was designed 2 years ago.  So we are super excited to be able to blog about it now!  For this glamorous table setting,  we used the rich combination of phalaenopsis orchids, exotic cattleyas, vanda and plum calla lilies. The mercury balls and silver Paillettes linens from Wildflower linens give this table a modern and chic twist while the  rhinestone trims adds ‘glam’ to the candle holders and calla lily bouquets.  Each silver plate was set on acrylic sheets and wrapped with plum colored napkins accented with rhinestone trims.  Luxurious menus from Simply Posh design completed this tabletop perfectly.  Who says weddings in Maui can not be modern, chic or glamorous?  Maui can be all that and more…….Hope you enjoy our ‘Glamorous’ table display.
Special thanks to Evonne Wong for helping us with this photo shoot and Mike Adrian for the awesome photos!

Four Seasons Wailea Maui wedding feature in ‘The Bride and Bloom’ Magazine

Just rolled off the press and available now on the stand.  The southern California ‘Bride and Bloom’ magazine featured our Four Seasons Wailea Hawaii wedding of Bo and Ray.  The perfect location for a Maui Wedding.

We have been holding off blogging about this wedding!  So we are over the moon excited to post this.  The Title of their story is ‘Romance in Paradise’ and indeed it was.  We think The Fours Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is the most romantic place to get Married. Surrounded with lush exotic foliages and perched on a gorgeous lawn overlooking the sea is where the Ceremony was held.   The impeccable oceanfront lawn was graced with an abundant of roses, tulips and orchids in rich creamy palette.  Each side of the aisle were tall cascading strands of crystals and orchids.  Talk about a statement!  Thick petal path lead the gorgeous bride to our romantic signature wedding canopy where Bo and Ray exchanged their vows.
I was thrilled when Bo described her ‘dream’ wedding to me when we first spoke.  In her own words ” I just want everything to be pretty”  As we started devising their wedding plans, we gradually add crystals (lots of them!) feathers, lace and tons of bling.  We took full advantage of the peonies season.  It was integrated at every turn.  What a lucky bride!  The natural fluffy petals of the peony was perfect ingredient for our ‘pretty’ wedding…The use of the Peonies was abundant at the escort table.  Each vessel was adorned with feathers, brooches and ruffles. Jennifer from Simply Posh design contributed her talent and provided the gorgeous blush exquisite guest cards and long with the menus.
The  beautiful room at the Four Seasons Wailea turned into a pink floral fantasy.  With each vase draped with multiple strands of crystals and tied with an antique brooch, the centerpieces glowed and brought sparkle to the room.  Each crystal vase held a spectacular display of blush pink peonies, graceful orchids and gorgeous double parrot tulips. We continued the decor with the chair treatment for the bride and groom. We draped the back of the sweetheart’s chairs to imitating the chiffon draping of the Bride’s Vera Wang dress.  Blooms of orchids roses and tulips adorned the chairs with Chantilly lace gathered at the base.  The room was completed with the beautiful cake embellished with our custom crystal brooches.  Ah, it was dreamy!  Special ‘thank you’ to Pamela Scott for the beautiful images.  Lastly, Huge thanks to our beautiful couple Bo and Ray!  Congratulations on your feature!  Thank you for allowing our team to design and plan your wedding!  Bo, I hope it was everything you have dreamed of .
