Rancho Valencia Resort ‘vintage’ style decor

Ah, the charm of Rancho Valencia Resort gets us every time.  We jumped with glee at the opportunity to create their table at the recent Hitched! bridal showcase in Del Mar.  This is our way of interpreting the magic of the Rancho Valencia Resort.  Imagine entering into perfectly serene grounds filled with orange groves, lush landscaping, and inviting spanish haciendas with old world charm.  This alluring resort tickles your every senses.  Our display for this table included gorgeous spring blooms in butter yellow, sherbet, and creamy white hues.  We lined the rustic table with a vintage lace runner and scattered bushels of lemons and orange lossoms.  Elegant blooms of cattleya orchids, hyacinths, and ranunculus were gather together and placed in charming vintage tea tins, and an old world candelabra festooned with cherry blossoms and springtime florals.  We truly look forward to the grand reopening of the luxurious resort!
We look forward to many more events with the fabulous Tracy Schwatz, romance and catering director  at the Rancho Valencia Resort.  Big thanks to Joseph Matthew Photography for these gorgeous images.

The Lodge Torrey Pines wedding: Kelly and Regan

Please stop over to the Ceremony Blog to revisit our fabulous couple’s wedding at the Lodge Torrey pines.  This wedding was a dream to design.  It was great fun to marry the two contrasting  themes , Organic and modern.  The spring colors of orange and green were insanely gorgeous together.  Congratulations once again Kelly and Regan!

Exquisite dessert table decor

Within the pages of this season’s fabulous Exquisite Weddings magazine, you’ll find our delicious dessert display captured by the talented Terri Rippee. Aileen Tran, our event stylist, harmonized gold and silver in this metallic themed candy station by adding blush pink touches and a nod to Roaring 20’s vintage glamour. We teamed up with Jennifer Daillard of J Grace Designs, who provided the luxurious stationary and her signature paper. Ostrich feathers, tassels, and beaded fringe adorned the platters, cakes stands, and apothecary jars. Gilded chocolate rosette and art nouveau inspired shells were propped on trays lined with J Grace’s elegant embossed paper. A nostalgic treat like kettle corn turned into something posh when we put them in glamorized retro striped paper cones. Gold sugar flower topped cupcakes, gold leafed french macarons, and silver jordan almonds individually packaged in custom monogrammed bags were our version of ultimate indulgence. A gold rosette backdrop and luxe sequin linen sent this flapper fantasy over the top…Enjoy!

Rancho Valencia Resort at ‘Hitched’ Wedding event

We are anxiously awaiting the reopening of the beautiful Rancho Valencia Resort this late summer.  Rancho Valencia Resort is a luxurious resort perfectly tucked away on a lush 40 acres offering upscale location for a wedding.  We are honored to be asked to decorate their table yesterday at the ‘Hitched!’ wedding event in Del Mar.  Our table decor embraced the rustic yet elegant aesthetic of Rancho Valencia.  We welcomed the spring season with the luscious  blooms of hyacinths, tulips, anemones and apricot blossoms perfectly displayed on an exquisite lace runner.  Sweet tea tins and orange blossoms makes this tablescape ‘oh so charming!’

Modern, whimsical purple wedding featured on Ceremony magazine

Ah looking at these gorgeous images from the talented Pamela Scott takes me back to the beautiful wedding of Denise and Tim.  The wedding graced the latest Ceremony Magazine 2012.  Three page spread showcasing the whimsical and romantic ceremony at the Japanese Friendship Garden.  We were in Peony and Orchid heaven.  Hundreds of the lovely peonies and Phaleanopsis orchids were used to line the pathway and hung from the above.  Soft amethyst fabric were added to the entrance and the wedding canopy.  Crystal strands added much ‘Glam’ to this ceremony.  The wedding reception in La Jolla embraced a more modern and vivid tone.  Here we were encouraged to unleash our creativity.  And we did!  We adorned each and every vessel with fun and exciting elements such as crocodile embossed fabrics, brooches, textured ribbons, rhinestones and sequins. J Grace Stationery provided the luxurious silk board menus that completely the wedding beautifully.   Congratulations Denise and Tim!  Thank you for inviting the Karen Tran team to design your wedding!

Estancia La Jolla wedding featured on Inside Weddings Magazine

The latest Winter 2012 Inside Weddings Magazine featured our beautiful couple Chleo and Ben.  Their wedding took place at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel.  Being the grandson of the Music Guru Wayne Foster Entertainment gives you many perks.  It’s no surprise that this wedding would be flawless, gorgeous and action packed with the most amazing entertainment in the industry. The lovely bride Chloe carried a classic white and ivory bouquet with a large crystal brooch while her beautiful attendant’s  bouquets of purple, magenta and plum hues were striking with their deep amethyst dresses.  Crystals, bling and sparkles were indeed the theme for this lavish wedding.  There were delicious details at every turn.  Upon entering the grand ballroom, the magnificent custom hi gloss dance floor set the tone for an all night festivities.  And how about the crystal encrusted grand piano custom made for the fabulous Wayne Foster?  We even made floral boxes adorned with large crystal brooches to complement this glamorous theme.  J Grace luxurious stationery provided the gorgeous silk board menus and our very own collection of crystal brooch napkin rings complemented the table scape beautifully.  The stunning large floral arrangement glistening with crystal prisms graced each guest table and the entire room lit up with violet and purple hues.  This truly was a glamorous wedding and the working with the Wayne Foster family has been complete pleasure.  Congratulations Chleo and Ben!

Hotel Del Coronado Wedding featured in Ceremony Magazine

This wedding had all the elements to be the over the top gorgeous wedding of the year.  The setting, the beautiful bride and of course the over abundance of flowers.  We were ecstatic that Ceremony Magazine has chosen to feature this on their latest publication.   We were so fortunate peonies were still available for this June wedding.  It played a major role along with the luscious white phalaenopsis orchids for this wedding.  The wedding ceremony was set on the infamous Windsor lawn overlooking the pacific ocean followed by the dinner reception in the gorgeous Grand ballroom.  I love the classic and elegant ceremony decor using the neutral soft palettes.  The bride walked through the  fresh thick petal path leading to the large  wedding canopy adorned with hundred of soft fluffy white peonies.  The cocktail hour was also held on the oceanfront lawn.  The escort table displaying the guests cards featured the deep bold orange color with navy blue accent, a perfect compliment to the bridesmaids’ Jcrew dresses.  Guests were then led to the beautiful Grand ballroom at the hotel Del Coronado for the dinner reception where large exquisite floral centerpieces consisting of primarily white blooms with hints of orange (The Bride’s favorite color!) We used white peonies, roses, hydrangeas, tulips and gorgeous phalaenopis orchids.  Elegant candle holders were bedazzled with feathers and brooches surrounding each stunning floral piece.  Our signature floral pieces graced each table beautifully in this Grand ballroom.  If you have ever been in this room, you would know what I mean.  The 40 feet ceiling with it’s vintage chandeliers demands a stunning floral display on each table and this wedding had that and more.  The beautiful custom dance floor designed  by Platinum pro made a striking statement in center of this grand ballroom, what a great addition!
Congratulations Laura and Patrick on your gorgeous wedding and magazine feature!  This wedding was beautifully planned by Crown Weddings. I am grateful for the beautiful images from Pam Scott and their main Photographer  Luna Photo.

Rancho Valencia Resort Vintage style wedding: Alex and Jesse

We had such a wonderful time designing and planning Alex and Jesse’s wedding at the Rancho Valencia Resort.  We assist this lovely couple with their San Diego Destination wedding as they planned this spectacular affair from San Francisco.  From Venue selection to amazing Vendors such Darin Fong, J Grace (formerly Simply Posh design)  Modern 8 Films, CBS Weddings to Wayne Foster Entertainment.  Of course weaving together their ‘Vintage Elegance’ theme for their wedding using tons of crystals lace and brooches was our main job. Our bride Alex loves the soft feminine color palette. We blended the whites, ivories and blush hues to produce an elegant color combination. Speial Attention to details is a Must for this wedding. Each personal item was specially crafted with hand crafted fabric rosette, lace and rhinestone trimmings.  The beautiful ceremony took place on the Hacienda lawn where we provided our signature wedding canopy.   Lace fabric added a unique dimension to the entrance columns and the floral boxes that lined both sides of the aisle.  Thousands of rose petals lined the main aisle to welcome the beautiful bride.  The Vintage elegance theme continued to the reception where large floral centerpieces graced every guest table with hydrangeas, garden roses, pendulous orchids, cafe au lait peonies and dripping crystal strands. Each candle holder was futher embellished with dangling crystals to add ultra glam to the tabletop. We were excited to introduced our luxurious custom gold overlay to the bridal head table. Talking about glitz! It was the perfect addition to this glamorous tabletop! The customized silk menus were absolutely exquisite! It was finished with a large cream rose at every place setting. The reception celebration surrounded the swimming pool where we floated large floral pieces with parafin candles. The glowing effect was magical throughout the evening. Vintage glamour was infused at every turn including the custom cake stand we made for their four tier cake and crochet lace runner for the table. As you can see the details for this wedding was vast and definitely the labor of love.  We are over the moon excited to be a part of it.  Congratulations to the beautiful couple Alex and Jesse!

Hotel Del Coronado Wedding ~ Tiffany Blue

Our ultra fun tiffany blue and white wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado was recently featured on Ceremony Magazine Orange County.  It is not only Ravishing, it was majestic, glamorous, gorgeous and surreal.  I can go on and on.  This beautiful couple was a gem and so much fun to work with.  Their radiant personalities and their love shines through their photographs.  I think there was a smile on everyone’s faces at this wedding,  No, I am certain of it.  And certain there was not a dry eye during the ceremony.  I love all the fine details of this wedding.  The all time favorite All white monochromatic wedding ceremony stole the show.  The beautiful bride Kim dash down the aisle lined with hundreds of white phalaenopsis orchids.  Two large massive manzanita trees festooned with these white beauties greeted them at the Altar.  The Escort guest card table display was certainly unique.  We built a towering manzanita branch dripping with white orchids and yellow roses and tiffany blue boxes holding hundreds of Crane the bride personally made.  So Sweet!
The Reception celebration continued in the Grand Ballroom where Platinum pro showcased their seamless tiffany blue and white dance floor.  Each guest table displayed our signature large white floral pieces and glamorous candle holders . The head table included the mirror top with plethora of crystal incrusted vases and candle holders.  Talking about bling bling!  It was definitely a Glam Wedding!  Congratulations Kim and Brian.  It’s great to see your beautiful wedding in the magazine! These images were curtesy of Jan Garcia.
