L’auberge Del Mar had us at “chic beach” and “stunning ocean view.” But when we saw their Waterfall Terrace, it reaffirmed our love for this luxury seaside resort. We knew we had to do a sleek and modern table display using white flowers and brown accents. Cascading white phaleanopsis orchids look as if they’re raining from above, echoing the falling water in the background. The centerpiece reinforces the aquatic theme with a row of water filled vessel, adorned with floating orchids. Supporting these vases is a floral pedestal of white hydrangea, spray roses, ranunculus, and orchid blooms. To give it an edgier touch, we added a white quartz rock runner on top of a brown suede linen.
Tabletop inspiration featured on Southern weddings Magazine blog
Yesterday Southern Weddings Magazine featured our inspirational photo shoot. See our feature in Southern Weddings Magazine blog Here. The talented Aileen created a spectacular tabletop infused with the colors of desert flowers. She masterfully blended organic elements with touches of lush florals such as Hawaiian dendrobium and phalaenopsis orchids bursting from two trumpet vases. The interesting mix with date palm berries, lilies, and pin cushions created a tantalizing tabletop. I love her color pairing. Here is Aileen’s interpretation of her ‘Desert Oasis tablescape’:
We had this eye-catching apple green linen that I’ve always wanted to use. As soon as I saw pin cushions and kangaroo paws come into season, I saw an opportunity to have some fun with the variety of colors that they come in. My goal was to create a clean yet lush oasis with intriguing additions of eucalyptus pods and succulent blossoms. To give it a modern and textural feel, I used a white quartz runner and wrapped the vases with suede. Copious amounts of floating candles and orchids will give it a fabulous ambiance as the sun sets upon the desert. ~Aileen
Many many thanks to the wonderful Pam Scott for the stunning photographs.
Bouquet Monday: Pink Tulip Bouquet
One look at a tulip blossom, and it’s easy to see why the 15th century Tulip Mania got so out of hand. Here is a bouquet composed of all double pink tulips. What’s a better way to celebrate this spell-binding flower? Each of the blooms are hand wired to give it a slender and delicate handle. The Dutch sure do have good taste in flowers. ~Aileen
Tough Love Couples: Simone and Dennis Peacock wedding
Peacock inspired wedding has got to be the most popular wedding theme ! We were so thrilled that Simone loves Peacock. We had a blast designing her reception around this beautiful feather. What’s not to love about vibrant colors and peacock feathers? Each floral tabletop was packed with richly hued lilac, viburnum, amnesia roses, anemone, sweet pea, spider mums, and red kale. Flowing purple calla lilies and fuschia phalaenopsis orchids as well as floating candles topped of the arrangements with even more fabulousness. Green and purple shimmer linens emulating the beautiful hues of peacocks graced all of the tables, while custom designed tassels of Wildflower Linens trailed along the backs of each chiavari chairs. Jennifer of Simply Posh did a spectacular job with the perfectly coordinating menus. Photography by Pam Scott Photography.
Tough Love Couples: Christina and Mario black and white wedding
We designed the reception room around Christina and Mario’s wedding color: black and white with gold accents. We used two different design concepts for the tabletop with the black and white motif. The white anemones with black center was our shining star! Isn’t she lovely? We paired her with black ostrich feathers and arranged her beautifully in a black display with a crystal brooch. The custom filigree runner made a beautiful statement and tied our color theme together nicely. Jennifer at Simply Posh Design provided the beautiful menus to coordinate perfectly with our tablescape. Vh1 also provided the custom seamless dancefloor with the Tough Love Couples logo and the two couples names. What a dramatic statement! Congratulations Christina and Mario!

Bouquet Monday: Ritzy Hollywood Glamour Bouquet
This bouquet transports me to a film noir movie with Humphrey Bogart, where I like to pretend that I’m the femme fatale, Mary Astor. Dark schwartzwalder calla lilies are a rich statement. Their slender and elegant shape make for a design that’s always timeless and stunning. A wisp of black ostrich feathers and a crystal brooch, and you have a bouquet with dramatic Hollywood glamour. ~Aileen
Gorgeous wedding at L’auberge Del Mar Pacific Terrace
There’s something magical about white and yellow. When put together, they transform into a combination of fresh, exciting and whimsical. We were ecstatic about doing Shannon and Jason’s wedding at the ultra hip L’auberge Del Mar. Let’s start off with her bouquet. Hand wired Hawaiian cattleya and phalaenopsis orchids were wrapped in a sash from her dress. Cattleyas have the most heavenly scent and I’m in love with their delicately ruffled petals. The couple exchanged their vows on the Pacific Terrace, overlooking the magnificent view of the pacific ocean. Shannon walked down a petal covered aisle, lined with floral boxes filled with white and yellow blooms of Charlie’s White peonies, hydrangea, lilies, and imported roses. In between the boxes were glass vessels filled with orchids peony blooms and crystals to give it a clean and fresh aesthetic. Standing next to the pair were two white columns topped with massive arrangements of white hydrangea and peonies. We used over a hundred stems of phalaenopsis orchids for each of these towering altar pieces. Lisa Moon Events of Orange County did a wonderful job coordinated the wedding. The programs hanging from the ceremony chairs were provided by Simply Stated Stationary.
As the guests enjoyed their cocktails, and took their escort cards from the sand boxes surrounding an embellished manzanita tree, we transformed it into a vibrant reception. Silver vases were white and yellow explosions of french tulips, calla lilies, and orchids. Surrounding each centerpiece were crystal filled vessels for floating candles that glowed as the sun went down. Allison, romance extraordinaire of L’auberge did a fantastic job at orchestrating this event. Our friend and wonderful photographer Pam Scott kindly documented these details for us but the main photographer for this wedding was the brilliant Luna Photography. We can’t wait to see their work!
Congratulations Shannon and Jason! We wish you the best! Thank you for allowing us the pleasure to design your wedding.
Bouquet Monday: Pink peonies and black feathers
Pink and black has always been such a glamourous color combination. Tissue-like petals of light pink peonies pair elegantly with sexy black feathers. The peonies are so soft and inviting, I could just eskimo kiss them all day long! Hints of bling and a black sequin handle wrap jazzes this number up into a feminine and fabulous bouquet. ~Aileen
Vh1 Tough Love Couple floral details
If you missed Tough Love’s season finale, here are some glimpses on all the delectable details on their personal flowers. Aileen did a phenomenal job catering to the bride’s unique requests. Christina and Mario wanted a classic black and white wedding with gold accents. For her bridal bouquet, we made a graceful cascading bouquet of phalaenopsis orchids, ranunculus, and spray roses. It was a perfect compliment to her tall physique. Her bridesmaids wore black and held chic bundles of white calla lilies, adorned with lovely gold crystal embellishments.
Our other bride, Simone, was a lover of all things peacock and organic. She wanted a rusitc and free-form bouquet, so we composed one with a green, white, and ivory palette out of kale, hydrangea, ranunculus, vendela, and cymbidium orchids. Twine and sprouted willow were integrated to give an earthy aesthetic. Purple, fuschia, and green complimented the many peacock feathers throughout Simone and Dennis’ wedding. The bridesmaids carried delicious bouquets full of exciting textures and vibrant colors. Simone’s two beautiful children carried an embellished moss covered basket and ring box and couldn’t be any cuter walking down the aisle.

Jennifer and Kevin: A beautiful art deco wedding at the Prado
This was a cool and gorgeous wedding. Jennifer and Kevin were married at The Prado Balboa Park. Their Art Deco inspired theme infused the entire wedding with gorgeous details. The feathers, the crystals and chandeliers were all the beautiful ingredients at their spectacular affair. We are talking about glitz and glamour. The Prado ballroom lit up like fireworks with stunning white florals displaying blooms of white orchids. Long beautiful white plumes were added to highlight the Vintage glamour theme. We received this video clip from SML. This wedding was beautifully planned by the lovely Susanne Duffy at Crown Weddings. More images from Parris Studios coming soon! They are definitely worth waiting for….just gorgeous!
Charlie’s White Peonies Bouquet
Hello, my name is Aileen and I’m addicted to peonies. It started of as a casual encounter, a bunch here, a waft of its sweet perfume there. Little did I know that my first experience with Sarah Bernhardt peonies was the gateway into a fervent obsession! Here’s a bouquet of Charlie’s White peonies to satisfy my cravings in the most delicious shade of creamy yellow. Charlie’s White is a double peony with graceful outer petals and a darling “pom pom” in the center, which add a great textural element. Wrap it up in vintage lace, you have yourself a lovely bouquet. ~Aileen

Karen Tran featured on VH1 Tough Love Couples wedding
Last night we had the honor of participating in the Season Finale of Tough Love Couples Wedding special. If you missed it, you can watch the full episode HERE. We had a lot of fun designing and provide the flowers for the ceremony as well as the personal flowers and two reception rooms. The wedding of Dennis and Simone, Christina and Mario took place at the beautiful Paradise Point resort in San Diego. There were many special details for these two weddings. Dennis and Simone had a peacock inspired wedding while Christina and Mario had a black, white and gold wedding. The ceremony decor embraced an over-the-top abundance style. It took 4000 roses to form the thick rose petal path leading to the wedding canopy. The wedding canopy was adorned with a romantic palette of cream, taupe and camel color roses. More beautiful images to come soon from the talented Pam Scott. For now, here some ceremony photos.
Watch Us on VH1 ‘Tough Love couples’ season finale on Monday
VH1 ‘Tough Love Couples’ season finale airs this Monday (5/31). Watch the heart felt episode of Dennis and Simone’s wedding ceremony and their spectacular wedding celebration filmed in San Diego. We are so honored to be selected as their wedding designer. Here is the sneak peak of Monday’s show.
Yellow black and white tabletop inspiration
Yellow is such a bright and fresh color. In this table top, we took lemon yellow and gave it a modern twist with accents of silver and black. White and yellow balls of carnations and mums rest atop vases and lucite squares trimmed with silver sequins. Graceful arches of calla lilies make a fabulous counterpoint. Who can resist glass vases filled to the brim with yellow cymbidium orchids and the darling jewel handles on the yellow pomanders? Black chiavari chairs and brocade plates add a little hint of black to keep things interesting. Alligator embossed charger plates make an edgy statement and have completely won me over. Charming menus and escort cards by Rock papper scissors design top off the whole look.
