It truly exudes classiness…it’s timeless and elegant….We used an abundance of orchids, import roses, hydrangeas and of course Peonies. This palette went very well with the Grand ballroom at the Hotel Del Coronado.

Nataeah and Chris are getting Married Soon!

One of my favorite couple this year. Nataeah and Chris booked my services almost a year ago. They are the hippest and coolest couple. I am over the top excited about their upcoming wedding in Four weeks! It’s going to be Hip, Chic and absolutely Elegant! We finished their tablescape mock up yesterday and I can’t be happier with her color selections and style! Nataeah LOVES pink and crystals (so happy about that) We are incorporating black and white with the Pinks! It’s going to be HOT! and pretty….can’t wait!

Bouquet Monday: English Garden Roses

I love garden roses. I am particularly fond of this bouquet because the roses came from my own Garden. Meet Ms. Abraham Dardy. One of the oldest ‘David Austin’ roses around. Known for its multi petals and its intense beautiful fragrance. It is one of my favorite garden roses. Here I mixed the bouquet with the all time favorite ‘lily of the valley’ to give it a romantic garden appeal….

Terri Ripee was the photographer for San Diego Wedding Magazine ‘Exquisite Weddings‘ photo shoot today. I was honored that she had asked me to provide the floral bouquets. It took place at the Darlinton House in La Jolla. I had a glimpse at the gorgeous gowns and jewelry. Can’t wait to see it in their next Spring issue!

WETV ‘Beach weddings’ Show this Monday!

Watch it again! The WETV ‘Beach Weddings’ is airing this Monday November 17 at 5pm.
My wedding was one of the four weddings featured, each with unique beach location. Our wedding took place at the Beautiful Hotel Del Coronado last September. The Ceremony was at the Windsor Lawn with a dramatic ocean view backdrop. Below are great images from our Photographer Darin Fong.

The historic Hotel del Coronado sits on 31 oceanfront acres and was named number one Wedding destination location in America by the Travel Channel

Libby and Scott at the Sheraton Grand Pacific Resort

The day could not have been more perfect. Beautiful weather, Gorgeous Resort and a glamorous Bride. Libby was absolutely stunning! I am constantly reminded why we live in San Diego and how perfect it is to have a wedding in San Diego. We had sunshine all day long. The wedding was taken place at Libby’s father’s Hotel The Sheraton Grand Pacific Resort in Carlsbad. The ocean view from the ballroom was breathtaking!

Of course great vendors made this wedding a seamless flawless event. Darin Fong’s images are just gorgeous. I don’t know how he does it! The photos were ready in two days. Darin, don’t you need sleep? Wayne Foster Entertainment rocked AGAIN! The San Diego leading live music entertainment band lived up to their name. Setting up the event with Wayne foster Entertainment rehearsing in the background gives me the chills. They were awesome! The day could not be completed without the expertise and the hard work of Susanne Duffy at Crown Weddings. She was definitely on top of it! Thank you susanne!

A Tiffany Blue affair

We hosted our engagement party at the Charming private estate in Coronado. The builder of this home was the very same builder of the Hotel Del Coronado on Coronado Island. Hence, the name for this estate is ‘Baby Del’. When my husband Russ proposed to me at the Montage Laguna beach Resort, he presented the ring in a Tiffany blue box. So I thought it would be appropriate and fun to wrap my ideas around that sensational color and have a ‘Tiffany’ party for our engagement. Big Thanks to my friend Susanne Duffy of Crown weddings who sent out the invites requesting all the guests to wear WHITE. Yes, even the gentlemen. They were all were such a good sport about it and showed up all dress up in white. Not Cream, not ivory but Pure White! It was stunning to see everyone in the same color. My husband and I both wore Tiffany blue. Darin Fong graciously photographed the party. I think he surgically had his camera attached to his body. I don’t think I have ever seen him without it! The photos are just gorgeous! Kimberly from Cake provided the beautiful cake.

Hotel Del Coronado Wedding: A San Diego Beach Wedding

So worth the wait!! I just received some amazing photos of Tyler and Mathew’s wedding from Tim Otto. Wow! Tim, you did a fantastic job! The best thing about San Diego is our weather, the next best thing is being a Event designer and wedding florist in San Diego. What a tough job I have working away on the sands of the best beaches in the US! I am so lucky to love what I do and have clients like Tyler and her mom Karen.

What a fun wedding this was and Tim just captured the details beautifully, Tyler and Matthew were married on the beach at the Hotel Del Coronado. I just love Weddings at the Hotel Del Coronado. Since Tyler resides in England, the majority of the decisions were made by the bride’s mother. Karen was a joy to work with. A florist dream mother! She just gave me the location, the bride’s inspirations and let me run with it. To see them with teary eyes as they enter the room was very rewarding. This was indeed a perfect day for a San Diego Beach Wedding! . Beautiful seamless Dancefloor and lounge furniture gave the coronet ballroom the finishing touch.

Aloha from Hotel Del Coronado

This weekend I had the pleasure of designing a spectacular wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado. We brought Hawaii to the Windsor lawn! Both Ted and Jerry were so much fun to work with. I was given 3 weeks to piece together one of the most detailed wedding ever! Emily Smiley, San Diego wedding planner coordinator did an outstanding job. I think she had a body double because I recalled seeing her in two different places! Well, she was on top of it that’s for sure! My favorite photographer ever Darin Fong captured the details and emotions beautifully! Wait until you see the photos! Here’s a couple of teasers.

The Guests sat on an individual ottoman that circled around this beautiful bamboo structure

More than 1200 feet of dedrobium orchid leis were used for this wedding. Here we used an abundance of the white orchid garlands to drape in front of the canopy. It looks so cool!

We used a collection of market umbrellas to form a long canopy for the reception. A gentle ocean breeze gives the orchid strands a whimsical effect.

My 1st anniversary, my 1st post!

I Can’t believe it’s been a year since my wedding at the beautiful Hotel Del Coronado. Russ and I got married on September 8th, 2007. The Ceremony and cocktail was taken place on the Windsore lawn and the reception was in the Grand Ballroom.

I am very thankful and fortunate to be surrounded by the most talented vendors in my industry.

Big Thanks goes to Darin Fong for capturing the greatest moments . He is So Talented and did not miss a single detail. I just love his natural soft style.

With San Diego most Fabulous Wedding coordinator Emily Smiley along with Susanne Duffy, how can anything go wrong! The day was packed with so many details, I think my time line was 10 pages long. Good Job Emily!

I must say, doing your own flowers (of course with a lot of help from my staff) and being filmed for the WETV Show ‘Beach Weddings’ added a little tension to the day. The TV show ‘Beach Weddings’ will be showing September 15 on WETV at 7pm. Check back for more dates!

I absolutely love the details on my dress and Shoes. Justene from the Tiara Room helped me embellish my Vera Wang shoes to compliment the details on my dress and my veil. She has some talent! And she has amazing beautiful jewelry! Ah….my type of gal!

How precious are these? A floral bag with jewel embellishments for the older flowergirl and petal basket for the younger one who absolutely has to throw petals! Of course adding a lil’ bling makes it ever so adorable.

This is a great alternative to a ring pillow. This sweet ring bearer guarded this with his life! Thanks Thomas!

I used a mixture of sahara roses and apple green cymbidium orchids to blend with these striking exotic Lady’s slippers orchids. My bridesmaids just love them!

Lady’s slippers nestled in nautilus shells were presented to the mothers and all my sisters (all 6 of them!)

such a beautiful alternative to a corsage, don’t you think? ( I couldn’t resist popping some jewels in it for them)

Like most brides, I dreaded walking down this HUGE lawn in my heels.

So! I designed this beautiful canvas aisle runner, painted it both sides so it’s thick enough to withstand all the trampling. My designer customized it with hand painted scriptures and our names . I read it as I made my way down the aisle to meet my husband. It was quite an experience. I will never forget that walk.

I walked down the aisle with the Gospel Choir singing ‘come away with me’ and ended my walk with ‘and I will never stop LOVING you’ verse. It was magical!

Even florist dream of walking down a thick white petal path….With a ton of flowers of course!

Our Seashell sand Ceremony

Beautiful sunset, ocean breeze, clear blue ocean view, wouldn’t you think this is a perfect back drop for an elegant Hawaiian cocktail reception? We framed the cocktail area with two mahogany bamboo trees bursting with vibrant orchids, lined with orchids bowls and petals leading to hula dancers and musicians playing beautiful tunes. They changed outfits several times too! Wow they were beautiful!

A lot of sweat went into producing this magnificent floral piece to hold our guest cards. The design underneath the cards was our initials!

Wendy Ware designed the escort cards along with the programs. Her work is truly astounding

Wayne Foster Entertainment was the hightlight of my reception. They are the BEST band in San Diego! They rocked the house (ballroom)!! Glorious voice from Jackie Foster herself as MC along with her 30 piece band and constant changing of the backup singer’s costumes were incredible! How did they have time to change 4 times? I love it! Thank you Jackie!

My Cake from the cake extraordinaire Michelle Coulon was spectacular! Not to mention it was so yummy!

It was dusted in 24k Gold! How cool!

Platinum Pro was responsible for the awesome Seamless white Dancefloor. Amazing how they can work with those scrolls! It was Gorgeous and made dancing more fun!

I love how the lighting washed the room creating a romantic glow!

A great addition to our reception was the double martini luges Ice bar. Over 8 feet long! It was a hit, our guests had more then a couple of flavors each!

I am a big fan of personalizing when it comes to weddings. Each of our tables had a frame with the names of those significant in our lives.

We shared our table with our favorite people in the world! I love this color combination, feels like sitting under a canopy of orchids with the warmth of candlelight illuminating from the table, oh it just shouts ‘Romance”
